Pembrokeshire dancers stepped out at the weekend for their annual dance bonanza!

Pupils of the Pembrokeshire Leisure School of Dance took part in a day of social dancing and competitions at the Milford Haven Leisure Centre on Sunday.

Over 120 dancers - aged from four to senior citizens - took part in disco, classical, modern sequence, ballroom and Latin dances.

The overall dance trophy for juvenile/junior/youth was won by Niamh Roach, of the Haverfordwest Leisure Centre Dance Section.

The overall dance trophy for adults was won by Nelum Withanage, of Milford Haven and Haverfordwest Leisure Centre Dance Section.

In addition to the competitions, the leisure centre disco teams showcased their work, while dance competition adjudicators Ray Wheeler and Suzanne Blake from the West Country, performed a Latin dance taster encouraging all participants to have a go at dancing.

Ray Wheeler and Suzanne Blake also handed out the dance prizes, while Pembrokeshire County Council Cabinet member, Clr. Rob Lewis judged the fancy dress competition and presented the prizes.

The overall trophies for the up and coming dancers went to: disco - Chloe Evans, Haverfordwest Leisure Centre; classical - Ellie Jenkins, Milford Haven Leisure Centre; modern sequence - Emma Hart, Milford Haven Leisure Centre; ballroom - Kaitlynne Cutajar, Milford Haven Leisure Centre; Latin - Attila Jonas, Haverfordwest Leisure Centre.

Latin Trophy for Junior/Youth couples: 1. Stephanie Rayner and Hannah Taylor; 2. Emma Picton and Kayla Hunt; 3. Shannon Jenkins and Lilly Adams; 4. Ellie Jenkins and Sophie Thomas; 5. Jemima Richards and Kaitlynne Cutajar.

Latin event under 11 yrs pairs: 1. Lucy Phillips and Saskia Jones; 2. Lucy Harding and Chloe Evans; 3. Niamh Roach and Tanwen James; 4. Tempany Louise Mock and Amber Deakin; 5. Shannyn Waterhouse and Kacey Louise Jones.

Sequence adult pairs: 1. Attila Jonas and Emma Hart; 2. Linda Hart and Lisa Evans; 3. Terry Dobson and Nelum Withanage; 4. Bimsara Perera and Jayne Jones; 5. Debbie Rickards and Yoriko Omae.

Winners of the Disney fancy dress competition: Under eight years - 1. Bethany Scale; 2. Isabella Scale; 3. Bethany Sexton; 4. Molly Bryn; 5. Emily Nash; 6. Sophie Kisselijov. Nine-13 years - 1. Shannon Jenkins; 2. Chloe Williams; 3. Amber Deakin; 4. Lucy Harding; 5. Chloe Evans; 6. Kaitlynne Cutajar. Fourteen years and above - 1. Lorna Owens; 2. Emma Hart; 3. Sophie Thomas; 4. Emma Picton; 5. Kayla Hunt; 6. Ellie Jenkins.

Classes in all sections of dance are held at the leisure centres at Milford Haven, Haverfordwest and Pembroke. Anyone wishing to take up dance as a hobby, please contact any of the above centres for times of classes.
