Congratulations goes to Richard Howell for being awarded ‘Narberth Person of the Year 2023’ in appreciation of his 40 years of support and contribution to Narberth Cricket Club.
He was presented with the shield by Narberth Town Council’s Deputy Mayor, Cllr Sue Rees, Mayor Cllr Elizabeth Rogers and county councillor Marc Tierney.
“It was a great honour and privilege to be awarded the shield for ‘Person of the Year’ at the recent civic luncheon hosted by Narberth’s Mayor, for services to cricket in the town,” said Richard.
“I would like to thank those who nominated me for the award and also thank the dedicated committee and volunteers at Narberth Cricket Club.
“I have played for Narberth since the age of 11, coached junior teams for 50 years and run the popular Ken Morris cup for the last 16 years.
“I hope to be able to continue this for many years to come,” he added.
Cllr Marc Tierney said: “A heartfelt congratulations to Richard on receiving the Town Council’s 'Narberth Person of the Year' award. Volunteers like Richard are the backbone of the community in Narberth. Thank you for all you have done in supporting Narberth Cricket Club for so long and here's to many more successful years ahead."
