An application to dismiss a case where a man is accused of causing the death of a baby at Tenby’s multi-storey car park is set to be heard this month on March 21.

Following the incident where six-month old baby Sophia Kelemen was hit by a car on January 2, thirty-four-year-old Flaviu Naghi from Leigh in Greater Manchester was arrested and charged with causing death by dangerous driving; and driving without a licence or insurance.

Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that baby Sophia Beatrice Kelemen sadly passed away the day after the collision occurred on the ground floor at the car park on Upper Park Road which occurred on the afternoon of Thursday, January 2, at around 4pm.

No pleas have been entered by the defendant, with his solicitor previously informing Swansea Crown Court that a motion to dismiss the charges would likely be made on the grounds that Naghi was not driving the car.

A provisional trial date for the case has been set for June 2.
