A former Mayor of Pembroke Dock has been handed a suspended jail sentence after admitting charges of possessing and distributing indecent images of children.
Fifty-five-year-old Terry Judkins of Bush Street, Pembroke Dock, was sentenced at Swansea Crown Court, after pleading guilty to two offences involving Category C images and possessing a prohibited image of a child between September 2018 and August 2021.
The defendant also admitted making and distributing Category A images of children.
10 ‘unique images’ of a 17-year-old known to Judkins, and another image of teenage boys aged between 10 and 13 years, had been been duplicated a number of times on two digital devices used by the defendant, a mobile phone and a computer, the court heard.
Judge Catherine Richards sentenced Judkins to 12 months imprisonment, suspended for two years for distributing indecent images; and he was given a further six-month sentence, suspended for the same period, for making indecent images.
Judkins will also attend a programme for people with convictions for downloading indecent images of children.
He will be placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years; and return to court at a later date to hear if he will be made subject to a sexual harm prevention order.
