A Whitland councillor has called for a makeover for the town’s signage.

Sue Allen, County Councillor for Whitland and Henllanfallteg said: “It was drawn to my attention that the road sign at the entrance to Whitland has an abbreviation and the ar Daf was missed off.

“I first checked with official ward names and the Welsh Language commissioner licensed list of official settlement names and it is complete so it appears we have been pruned for practical reasons.

“Llanfihangel ar arth is not pruned and is equally lengthy therefore I have requested the sign, which is scratched anyway, be replaced with the full name - Whitland/Hendy-gwyn ar Daf.

A requested for this has also been made at the train station and for train’s digital displays.
