DAME Colin and Daisy the Cow, Torch Theatre’s pantomime mascots, certainly turned heads at the two day Pembrokeshire Agricultural County Show as they paraded around the show field. From visiting the Young Farmers Club stall to various food producers, farm machinery tents and the cow shed, the two loveable characters put smiles on faces wherever they went.

Located at the Milford Haven Port Authority marquee near the main equestrian rings, the colourful Torch Theatre stall attracted new and faithful supporters. Many dressed up in costumes from past pantomimes and had their photos taken with Dame Colin and Daisy.

Torch Theatre’s Artistic Director, Chelsey Gillard, was delighted that so many people called at the Theatre’s stall.

“It was great to see everyone. The flow of people through the tent was terrific and we were able to promote our up-and-coming events, from cinema and live broadcasts to theatre and music. It was wonderful to bring the Torch Theatre magic to the people, to engage with them and to promote our activities here in Milford Haven.”

Being part of the County Show was also an ideal opportunity to launch two events at the Torch as Chelsey explains:

“We announced our autumn production, a return of the much-loved Grav that will be performed with us in October celebrating 10 years of touring the world, and we also launched our Jack and the Beanstalk Design a Set Competition for the children – more details to be announced soon. It was heartwarming to receive such good feedback from our audience members and to talk about our array of activities. It really was a fun day, and we look forward to returning next year.”
