A Narberth Inn praised for exceptional service and welcoming ambiance has earned the accolade ‘Best Local Pub 2025’, with locals in Hundleton and Cresswell Quay taking second and third places.
After weeks of anticipation, the highly sought-after title of Best Local Pub 2025 has been awarded to The Ivy Bush Inn in Narberth.
The Ivy Bush Inn was presented with a free keg of beer from Templeton Beer Wine and Spirit Co, a Winner’s trophy and certificate, and bespoke beer mats on Monday , March 17 by Samuel Kurtz MS.
The competition, launched by Samuel Kurtz MS Member of the Senedd for Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire and supported by Templeton Beer Wine and Spirit Co, set out to recognise and celebrate the vital role that local pubs play in local communities.
It saw an incredible response from locals who voted passionately for their favourite pubs with over 102 pubs voted for and 569 votes cast. Following a rigorous evaluation process, The Ivy Bush Inn emerged victorious having received the highest number of nominations, praised for its exceptional service, welcoming ambiance, and dedication to providing a top-notch experience for patrons.
Taking the well-earned second place was the Highgate Inn and Hotel in Hundleton, another fantastic establishment renowned for its friendly staff, excellent selection of drinks, and community spirit. The waterside The Creselly Arms in Creswell Quay took a close third position.
He also emphasised the importance of supporting local pubs, commenting, “Our local pubs are the heart of our communities. They provide a place for people to come together, celebrate, and support one another. This competition was about recognising our local pubs and the impact they have in our communities and their role in the local economy. I want to thank everyone that took part and I congratulate The Ivy Bush Inn on their well-deserved win.”
He added, “Across Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire there are 150 pubs and 2 breweries which contribute £39 million to the local economy, and they support 1,179 jobs which is just incredible and that’s why this competition has been important in showing our appreciation for their role in our community.”
