Julie Evans opened the February meeting of Summerhill WI at Amroth Parish Hall by handing around to members her marvellous selection of hand-decorated goose eggs in the ‘Faberge’ style.
The eggs came in a myriad of styles and colours including jewel boxes and even a clock. She was warmly thanked by Marilyn for an excellent talk. Refreshments followed served by Jo, Wendy and Sue H, with Kay winning the raffle.
The meeting continued with a special welcome to guests Belinda and Ann with birthday greetings for Sue H and Jane. With apologies noted, thanks were given to Hilary for the lovely daffodils and to members for their food bank donations.
Sympathy was extended to Marlene and Dawn on the very sad loss of Dilys, a mum and aunt respectively who until recently had been an active and faithful member of Summerhill WI.
The January 18 event in the hall had been a successful day with craft items, photographs and paintings on display. The 2025 programme was available as were home-made scones and thanks were given to all who helped on the day.
The 2025 subscriptions will be £51 and members were reminded that payment is due in March.
The next meeting will have Frank Farrer demonstrating Tai Chi for Health and Wellbeing on Monday March 10 at 7pm at the hall in Summerhill. Hostesses are Kay, Linnia and Margaret L.
