Manorbier Newton Fundraisers raised £1,464 for three local charities at their annual soup and pudding lunch in Lamphey Village Hall.
They were thrilled with the fantastic support for the event on Saturday, February 15.
The three worthy charities to benefit are Homeless Pembrokeshire, Sandy Bear Children’s bereavement charity and The Trussell Trust Food Bank ( Pembroke Dock).
There were two hours of hectic activity both in the kitchen and in the hall, catering to a packed hall . All the tables were beautifully laid and decorated with spring floral arrangements.
Visitors from all over the county relaxed over their lunch, chatting with old friends and making new ones.

Choosing from three tasty soups was only the start of the difficult decisions. There was a tempting and stunning array of desserts both hot and cold, lovingly homemade - tough choices, but it had to be done! At least people could have a takeaway as well, which many did.

The raffle was well supported, raising a hefty sum of money . There six prizes in total, including four beautifully packaged hampers. The goods inside the hampers were all donated by the villagers in Manorbier Newton and local friends.
The organisers would like to thank everyone for supporting this event and consequently the three nominated charities. They also appreciated all the extra help from supportive friends who washed up, cleared tables, waited on tables, served drinks, gave raffle and food donations and took care of the finances.
Manorbier Newton Fundraisers work as a well oiled machine, with professionalism and humour. They would like to thank Helen Brickell, who every year has the vision and organisational skills to motivate and inspire everyone.
Until next year…!
