Tenby’s Mayor has spoken of his sense of pride over all the many different organisations in the seaside town that work together for the benefit of everyone, in the lead up to Christmas and 2024.

In his festive message, Mayor of Tenby, Cllr Dai Morgan said: “Christmas means different things to different people. For many it is a time to spend with family and reflect on the past year.

“This year has seen many changes and challenges both here in Tenby and throughout the country and the world.

“Since becoming Mayor, I have been welcomed with such warmth and hospitality to events organised by clubs, societies, charities, schools and businesses.

“Both the Mayoress and I have had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful people in our town from all walks of life.

“I have never felt prouder to represent Tenby. I have seen how the many different organisations in Tenby work together and support each other, and have seen some truly amazing work going on, often behind the scenes, for the benefit of everyone,” he continued.

“As we head towards Christmas and New Year, it is vitally important that we give thanks and think of others. I know there will many of you working over the Christmas period and I would like to give special thanks to those of you who are.

“Times are difficult for many, but if you are buying gifts, food or festive decorations please buy locally where you can and support your local shops.

“At this time of year, we witness some truly inspiring acts of kindness within our communities, from neighbours supporting the vulnerable, supermarkets donating food parcels and local businesses offering their support.

“I am sure this year will be no different as I have already seen the goodwill that exists in our communities and the amount of charity work that takes place by people to make life a little better for those less fortunate than ourselves.

“I would also like to extend my personal thanks and greetings to those who continue to look after us and keep us safe in the Town – the emergency services and all those who will be looking after our loved ones.

“May Christmas be a time of companionship and celebration for you and those you love – and may the New Year bring peace and prosperity.

“Merry Christmas and a very happy 2024!” added Tenby’s Mayor.
