Well over 100 people came along on Saturday, November 2 to support the annual coffee morning and grand raffle draw held this year at the Begelly Arms in aid of the Cancer Day Unit at Withybush Hospital.

The event proved particularly popular once again, attracting people from all over Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire and resulted in organisers Raydene Waters, Pauline Davies and Louise Waters raising £1,725 in only three hours.

Raydene remarked: “We were delighted to welcome our friends from the local community and those who travelled from Milford Haven, Haverfordwest and St. Clears to be part of the event. It was a lovely atmosphere and an enjoyable few hours.

“We have fundraised for over eight years in support of the Cancer Day Unit so we really appreciate the help we have had each year from the community and local businesses.”

Anne Howells, Trustee of local charity Withybush Hospital Cancer Day Unit attended the event to offer her support and updated those present on the work of the charity.
