The Co-op store in Kilgetty has been very kind to the Tenby branch of PATCH, the foodbank based in the Old Chapel, Lower Frog Street.
The shop has hosted a donation basket at the tills for many years and members of the public have been generous in placing food items in the basket for our collection and distribution.
Last week, volunteers from PATCH (Pembrokeshire Action To Combat Hardship) were invited to the store and were able to choose non-perishable items to the value of £250 which the Co-op store donated. This refilled the shelves in Tenby so the charity is able to continue to help those who are struggling to buy food for themselves and their families.
“We are very grateful to the Co-op and to Dave the manager who organised the donation,” said a spokesperson for the food bank.
“There is an increasing need for food parcels these days and we are called upon every day to deliver parcels in the area. People are extremely kind and generous, even when many are facing the squeeze themselves. Many thanks to all.”
