Cllr Chris Walters has been installed as Mayor of Narberth once again for the forthcoming year.
At the Town Council’s AGM this month, outgoing Mayor Cllr Elizabeth Rogers nominated Cllr Walters for the role, with Cllr Rigby seconding the proposal and all fellow members in favour.
Narberth born and bred, Cllr Walters who joined the council in early 2017, stated that he was ‘honoured’ to be the Mayor again, but that it was sad to take on the role given the circumstances of the passing of Deputy Mayor Cllr. Sue Rees earlier in the year.
Cllr Rees was a huge part of the community and was due to become Mayor again for 2024/25.
She was recognised as the driving force behind saving many community facilities within the town.
He also paid tribute to all the Councillors who had passed since joining the Council in the last five years.
Mrs Bron Walters will be his Mayoress for his term in office.
Cllr Walters duly signed two copies of the Acceptance of Office as Mayor in front of the Town Clerk.
Cllr C Meredydd will be the Deputy Mayor for the forthcoming year. Cllr Rigby seconded the proposal and all members were in favour of this.
