2024 was another busy season for the volunteers at Tenby Surf Lifesaving providing patrols, training and education on the resorts beaches.
During the year the volunteer lifesavers provided water safety cover at some of the county’s biggest events with the team providing 334 hours worth of volunteer lifeguard cover and assisted 85 people in difficulty in the water.
Furthermore, while ‘off duty’ and delivering the clubs weekly Junior Lifesaving training – a weekly session where lifeguards teach local children water-based skills, first aid and general beach safety education – the volunteer lifeguard/coaches entered the sea a number of occasions and rescued 8 members of the public in difficulty.
Tenby Surf Lifesaving is a local volunteer lead, registered charity who since its inception in 1993 has worked to save life, by prevention or by rescue, from the beaches at Tenby.
The charity relies solely on donations, local sponsors and volunteers to conduct its work and would like to thank its 2024 supporters.
The club is always looking to recruit and train new lifesavers and anyone interested in volunteering should contact the club on: [email protected] or message on social media.
