POPULAR musicians Rosalind Moore and Wynford James, of Love On A Piano, had a fantastic end to a thoroughly eventful year when they performed at Portmeirion - 'The Ritz of Wales' on New Year's Eve. They played mood music at its best to suit a clientele that had travelled from far and wide to spend their New Year's Eve in the magnificent setting on the Madoc Estuary in North Wales.
"The ambience created as the diners partook of their New Year's Eve menu was quite special and it was very much appreciated by the guests and the management," said Rosalind who lives in Tenby. "When the owner of the hotel, Mr. Robin Llewellyn, decided to join the evening for a short time, he was delighted that the whole scene conveyed relaxation - pure enjoyment with that feel of magic."
Rosalind and Wynford revisited the mood music they love so much which was made famous by Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Dinah Washington, Doris Day and Marilyn Monroe in their own unique style.
During the Christmas period, Rosalind and Wynford performed 30 shows 'Swing into Christmas', touring all over the country - both North and South Wales - as well as across the border to Cheltenham, Gloucester, Telford and Shrewsbury. That show was packed full of energy and fun, with a few surprises as they crossed the styles of music for various dining events. Locally, they entertained a group of St. Florence diners at the Cartwheel Restaurant, Amroth.
