Congratulations to New Hedges-based florist Shelley Webb on winning a top award in this year’s Best of Welsh Wedding Awards.

The ‘Best Florist’ accolade was awarded to Flowers by Shelley as voted for by the brides, grooms and families who have benefitted from her service.

Shelley, who had recently been busy making Tenby look beautifully Christmassy once again, attended a ceremony at the Ty Newedd Country Hotel in the Brecon Beacons.

Recognising every footprint in the wedding industry, no matter how big or small, ‘Best of Welsh’ is the fairest wedding award system around. All votes have been validated, counted and verified by independent businesses.

Shelley said: “What can I say? I am absolutely gobsmacked that I won Best Florist 2022.

“Thank you to all my absolutely fantastic brides, grooms and families for voting for me!

“I have a dream job and wouldn’t be a winner without you all.”

Shelley’s clients were not so surprised. Hailing her as a ‘floral genius’, they told her the award was “well deserved”, with some giving examples of how she had gone above and beyond everyone’s expectations with her outstanding floral arrangements.

Shelley’s wasn’t the only local business to pick up a trophy in the 2022 Best of Welsh Wedding Awards; The Plas Hyfryd Hotel in Narberth was awarded runner-up in the Best Wedding Venue category. The Plas posted a shout-out to fellow local finalists through their Facebook page:
