Specialist business property advisor, Christie & Co is pleased to announce Manorbier Nisa & Post Office has been sold for the first time in 24 years.

Located just less than one mile from the beach, Manorbier Post Office benefits from both local trade and the area’s thriving tourist market.

The store provides a varied selection of convenience products, as well as a Post Office service which is heavily relied upon by the residents.

The business has been owned and run by Anne Rossiter since 1999, who recently decided to sell in order to retire.

Anne commented: “I’d like to say a big thank you to Christie & Co for the sale of our shop.

“There was a lot to sort with us also having a Post Office, but Joe dealt with everything professionally and with no delay.”

Popular postmistress - Anne had loyally served the village of Manorbier for the past 23 years, and three generations of family have worked in the business.

Many younger family members have also worked there whilst studying at school or during university holidays.

Anne said: “The best thing about being a Postmistress is that I enjoy helping people. I am very proud of the service that I have given people.

“Good customer service is so important. I like to go the extra mile. I often describe my Post Office business as my fourth child as it takes up a large amount of my time.

“The shop and Post Office managed to stay open throughout the pandemic. We were very busy. I sold my car for a van so that I could do home deliveries.

“People were very grateful that we remained open so that they could stay local,” she continued.

“Many banks have already shut and the last bank is soon set to close.

“My Post Office has picked up lots of personal and banking customers. It saves people a really long journey to the nearest bank,” she added.

The new owners, the Kumar family, are experienced operators who own another convenience store in Wales, and they intend to run the new store with a hands-on approach.

The sale was assisted by Lawrence Roberts from Christie Finance, who said: “I am delighted that I was able to obtain funding for the Kumar family to purchase this store.

“The process coming out of the pandemic and then into the current economic climate was difficult, however it is a clear sign that we are well placed to deliver competitive terms in the retail sector.

“I wish them well and look forward to hearing about their success in the future.”

Funding for the new owner’s purchase was secured through Christie Finance.

Joe Brayne, Business Agent at Christie & Co who handled the sale, said: “This is a fantastic store which received a lot of interest, due to its proximity to the lovely Welsh coast.

“We received a very high amount of interest with multiple enquiries on the business.”
