Kilgetty and Begelly Community Council have given the organisers of the locality’s summer Village Fete to be held this month - a financial boost.

At their most recent meeting, councillors considered a request received from the Kilgetty and Begelly Village Fete committee requesting assistance with the supply of essential equipment and services for the planned event which will take place on Sunday, August 27, from 12 noon.

Monies raised at the Fete will be donated to the planned new Kilgetty Park.

Cllr Lockley proposed KBCC agree to purchase items up to the value of £750.00, Cllr Whitby seconded the proposal, with a majority of Cllrs in agreement.

The Fete will feature stalls, singers and acts, including - a Rock Choir, Dance School, Kids Fun rides, Ice Cream man. As well as art and craft stalls, Greenacres will also be hosting a fun dog show.

On Saturday, September 2 Peter and the Friendship Club have arranged another fundraising event towards Kilgetty Play Park, organised to take place at the Begelly Arms.

Big thanks went to Peter Adams for hosting the event, and community councillors were encouraged to support the fundraiser.

If the weather is good for the Fete, it is hoped that the two events combined will raise around £2,500 for play park provision.
