THE 2014 concert season at Burnett's Hill Chapel, Martletwy, gets underway on Thursday, February 13, with a visit from one of the country's most acclaimed folk musicians.
Singer and multi-instrumentalist Phil Beer has enjoyed a long and successful career, both as a solo artist and as a key member of multi award-winning folk outfit Show of Hands who regularly sell out the Royal Albert Hall. His skills as a fiddler and mandolin player have even been recognised by The Rolling Stones who invited him to guest on one of their recordings.
Phil's current solo tour of Britain is called 'Land and Sea', a nod to the fact that he spends part of each summer at home in Devon sailing his traditional wooden gaff-rigged boat.
"Phil played at Burnett's Hill about three years ago, and we had a great evening," said chapel trustee Keith Johnson. "And he must have enjoyed it as well, because he especially asked for the chapel to be included in the Welsh leg of his 2014 British tour."
Tickets for the concert, which starts at 7.30 pm, are available from Main Street Music, Pembroke, or by phone on 01646 621530.
