Recently, the London Metropolitan Police gave their annual LIVIA Award for 'Professionalism and Service to Justice', to Sergeant Paul Cleevely.
Paul, formerly of Saundersfoot and the son of Clr. Bill Cleevely and Mrs. Gladys Cleevely, received his award in the Houses of Parliament from Viscount Simon in the presence of MPs representing all political parties.
Viscount Simon stated: "Sergeant Paul Cleevely has been involved in the scene management of more than 50 fatal and serious road crashes.
"His attendance on a CID - orientated course assisted the change in the whole emphasis of the syllabus which had not taken into account that three times more people die on the roads than are murdered, that the deaths of these victims are crimes not accidents and that victims' families are as entitled to the same police support and case follow-up as any murder investigation."
Paul also received a personal letter from the Prime Minister Mr. Tony Blair, congratulating him for being a worthy winner.
He also received confirmation that he had passed his Inspector examination.
