There was a shock last week when a landslide occurred forcing the closure of the coast path between Wiseman’s Bridge and Coppet Hall in Saundersfoot.

In a statement on Twitter, Tenby neighbourhood Policing Team who cordoned off the area on the day it occurred (November 7), stated: “A large landslide has led to the closure of the coastal path from Coppet Hall to Wiseman’s Bridge.

Local authorities have said that they are working together to reopen a costal path route between Wisemans Bridge and Coppet Hall.

Pembrokeshire County Council state they have surveyed the site and are in the process of arranging permanent repair after the landslip last week which has closed the popular path.

In the meantime, the Authority has closed the cycle path between Coppet Hall and Wisemans Bridge to ensure the safety of the public.

Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority have said that the alternative route for walkers, which is clearly signposted, is the higher level route through the woodland, with walking boots recommended as the route is quite steep in places.

The tunnel between Saundersfoot and Coppet Hall will also be closed from Monday, November 25 and due to reopen on December 6 to enable PCC to install a new drainage line.
