Anti-20mph stickers continue to pop up around Pembrokeshire villages, a community council has heard.

Members of East Williamston Community Council (which includes Pentlepoir in its ward) heard from County Councillor Jacob Williams this month that stickers on speed signs in the locality had been noted.

In a report to councillors, Cllr Williams said that there was now a call for local authorities to review 20mph areas, with a view to increasing back to 30mph.

He explained that Pembrokeshire County Council is allowing an opportunity for residents to request changes to 20mph speed limits in their locality, following a speech by new Senedd transport cabinet member Ken Skates, in response to negative feedback following the Welsh Government's 20mph roll-out last autumn.

New 'exceptions' guidance from Cardiff Bay is expected to follow on this summer.

In the meantime, if residents wish to suggest any valid reasons why current 20mph limits in specific areas of the county should be reversed (as opposed to comments on the policy in general) then they are invited to make representations to Pembrokeshire Council's highways department for consideration, via email at: [email protected]
