Matters discussed at the June meeting were as follows: Blue Flag: All readings to date had been fine and adequately met the Blue Flag standard. Councillors asked that the Environment Agency provide them with the figures initially to enable them to keep up to speed with any developments. Three personnel from the Environment Agency had been made available to test the water on Amroth beach and to monitor the situation carefully. There was concern about what was being done to prevent pollution occurring. It was clearly stated that council must learn from events of the past and ensure that the Environment Agency maintain their involvement and support council in identifying any foreseeable problems. Anything that could be substantiated in the way of evidence of pollution should be reported to the Environment Agency immediately, with photographs if possible. One councillor was concerned that the TV coverage of the Blue Flag was misleading. Dog bins: Still no dog bin had been installed at the car park in Amroth. Council had real concerns about litter bins being filled with dog waste. Council don't want anything to jeopardise the Blue Flag being returned for next year. A further email was to be sent to Pembrokeshire County Council, also asking if the dog bag dispensers could be removed as they were no longer required as dog owners were using them for dog waste. Dog owners had been encouraged to use their own disposal bags. The council was also requesting that more prominent dog restriction signs should be displayed for the holiday season as this law was being abused. Marker posts by the Cartwheel Restaurant: These were still not installed. Council was to have these installed in May, but as yet this had not been done. Enhancement of promenade in Amroth: This project was making good progress and would be a very nice feature on the promenade. Young people on bikes at Wiseman's Bridge cycle track were using it as a race track and causing some concern. Councillors suggested that there should be a speed restriction sign on it to beware of pedestrians and horses. This was also a footpath and a bridle path. Pembrokeshire County Council would be contacted about this. Morgan's Way, Summerhill: A member of the community reported that he was very concerned about the junction onto the main road which had very poor visibility on both sides, but especially to the right. It was suggested that all residents of Morgan's Way draw up a petition to present to the council. The resident was advised that this petition should be brought to the next community council meeting for the council to despatch to PCC. Also suggested was moving the speed signs further away from the junction and another councillor said that speed bumps would help. It was reported to the resident, who had kindly attended the meeting, that council had already raised this several times with PCC. It would appear that no-one wanted to take responsibility for this. Summerhill bus shelter: Council was delighted to learn that the bus shelter had been renovated and painted. Gully on Old Amroth Road: This work was on the maintenance schedule. This had still not been done. Bus shelter in Amroth village opposite the Amroth Arms: Council had still not had a response to this. Amroth village sign: Council had requested a black and white sign for the village, but in the meantime, the old sign would be erected. Prohibitive disabled access at ladies toilets in Amroth village: This had been done. Pathway from Pleasant Valley to Wiseman's Bridge: This had still not be done. A further reminder would be sent to PCC. Corner by Pen Glyn: The slow sign on road had been obliterated. It needed repainting. Action would be taken on this matter.

Correspondence
Internal audit - Auditing Solutions - May 2008: Councillors noted that the internal audit had now been completed and the Action Plan received. The summary report was put to council with details of suggested Action Plan. This report was accepted and signed off by councillors. The chairman signed the relevant part of the annual return.
OTHER Matters
Mr. Scourfield was contacted by a councillor about supporting the Pembrokeshire dialects research he was undertaking. Summerhill lay-by had been used by overnight parkers. A request was made for the sign which stated that there was no overnight parking to be replaced. Also on the patch of ground outside the Amroth Castle caravan car park. It was noted that two BT telephone boxes had been vandalised, but they had since been repaired. Council was to inform BT of a request that the 'phone boxes be kept in the area because the signal on mobile 'phones was very patchy. It was reported that there were surveyors outside the old post office at Stepaside surveying the flood area. This was noted as the people in question did not have any identification. It was also reported that there had been several approaches by people requesting a slipway opposite the New Inn onto the beach as it was difficult for pushchairs and the elderly or disabled to walk down over the pebbles. One councillor said that there had been a request for a rubber matting to be placed over the stones. This would be cheaper. It was particularly relevant as the steps were currently out of action. A letter was to be sent to National Park to ask if this could be done. It was reported that dog fouling signs had been taken down in Summerhill. Clr. Brinsden was looking into this. One councillor also suggested that there should be some work done on the verges outside the Zoar Chapel of Rest in Llanteg - perhaps tarmacing the area - to prevent cars from driving on the newly cut verges and the fact that the verge was sinking. The annual community council church service would be held at Llanteg Village Hall at 11 am on August 17.
