I would like to say that I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas this year and are looking forward to an even better new year full of health and hope.
I would like to express my thanks to all of the emergency personnel Tenby firefighters, the coast guard /lifeboat crew/police and the medical teams that work 24/7 every day to make sure we are here for our loved ones.
Also, I would like to thank everyone who works Christmas Day so that others can enjoy the day like everyone else.
I’ve had a great year this year getting to go and meet more groups and people of Tenby and to help support them.
I had the privilege of being invited to many places from Caldey island to Tenby museum and all the summer spectaculars to mention but a few.
There are many things to do in Tenby to enjoy our beautiful town so take a bit of time and go have a look.
We have had some fantastic events this year including the well supported Firefighters’ carnival celebrating 100 years and Tenby Male Choir singing to raise money for various charities and showing the world how good they are by performing before the Wales/Barbarians game. It gave me goosebumps to watch.
Again, this year ahead is going to be hard but, as this council has proven, we try to do the best that we can. We managed to acquire new Christmas lights for the town and lights for the tree as the people of Tenby have requested for many years. We put our heart into making Tenby a brilliant place to visit and more importantly to live in.
We have exciting plans ahead for next year so we might need some volunteers if you’re available.
We have also become a sporting town with events from May to September.
We celebrated the 10th year of Long Course Weekend last year and it will be the 10th year of Ironman in 2020 which I hope inspires Pembrokeshire to get motivated to do more which helps with health and wellbeing.
So all that is left to say is I hope to carry on in 2020 and do, along with my fellow councillors, the very best we can for the local people of Tenby.
Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year.
Mayor Tony Brown and the councillors of Tenby
