Tenby RNLI’s lifeboat crew have come to the rescue of a teenager being blown out to sea, almost a mile offshore on a paddleboard.

The Haydn Miller all-weather lifeboat was launched shortly after 6.30pm on Tuesday, July 30, after the coastguard received a call stating that a stand-up paddleboard with one person aboard was being blown out to sea by a strong offshore breeze at Pendine.

As the crew were nearing Pendine, they located the paddleboarder, and the teen was taken aboard the lifeboat. Despite being shaken up, she was none the worse for her ordeal.

Once close enough to shore, the crew launched the Y-boat and took the girl ashore, where she was met by her very relieved parents.
