A ‘lucky dog’ received a ride on a lifeboat yesterday after being rescued by Tenby’s RNLI and coastguard crews, after the pooch had fallen off a clifftop, but was thankfully unharmed.
Inshore lifeboat the Kathleen Ann was launched at 1.35 pm on Tuesday (May 16) following a report that a dog had gone over the cliff at Giltar.
The volunteer crew were on scene a few minutes later and following a brief search, found the dog in a cave near Valleyfield Top.
“Amazingly, apart from a few cuts, the dog seemed unharmed by its ordeal,” said a spokesperson for Tenby RNLI.
The lucky dog was then taken aboard the lifeboat, before being brought around to South Beach, to be reunited with its relieved owner, who was waiting with members of the Tenby Coastguard team.
The dog was then taken to the vets for a check up.
