St Davids RNLI inshore lifeboat launched into sea fog to assist with an injured coasteerer.
The lifeboat was tasked to assist a casualty who had sustained a lower back injury during a coasteering session at Abereiddy at 5.20pm on Sunday, June 23.
The casualty sustained the injury earlier in the afternoon and had been transferred to shore by members of a coasteering company. HM Coastguard from St Davids and Fishguard were first on the scene, but with a delay in arrival of an ambulance, requested the inshore lifeboat launch to provide pain relief.
The St Davids lifeboat crew assessed the casualty and administered entonox until paramedics arrival at 8pm. The crew then returned to station and rehoused ready for service by 9pm.
