New Hedges/Saundersfoot United have got their hands on the Division 4 Cup after comfortably seeing off St Ishmael’s Seconds 7-1 in the final.

Adam Davidson opened the scoring from the spot when Evan Owen was brought down just inside the area.

St Ishmael’s fired back quickly with a close range header from Thomas Williams.

However, a brilliant counter attack launched by Jack Franklin, allowed Oscar Miles to produce a cross that was met at the back post by Owen whose controlled finish made it it 2-1 to NHS Utd.

They increased their lead when Geoff Marsh pounced at the back post to slot the ball past the oncoming keeper.

The game was pretty much put out of sight, when Miles showed incredible skill to turn his marker, and provide a delicious cross to the far post, which was met by a diving header from Davidson.

Shortly after Miles smashed home a well deserved goal to make it 5-1 before the break.

After half time, NHS Utd played some great passing football, and added two more goals, one for Miles, whilst Davidson completed his hat-trick with a header into the bottom corner to make it 7-1.

It was a perfect end to the season, and a fitting send off for local ‘legend’ and captain Geoff Marsh who completed 25 years of senior football!
