When Spitz and Co brought their production of `Elvis in Blue Hawaii, Pretender in Paradise’ to Tenby’s De Valence Pavilion, the audience agreed they hadn’t laughed so much in years.

It’s a two-hand musical comedy involving Elvis impersonator Ian Pollock played by Joe Reeves, and his long suffering manager, Josphine Cunningham – played by Susie Donkin who also plays every other character!

The show told the tale of Elvis arriving in Hawaii to make the film, Blue Hawaii, but managed to include episodes form every part of Elvis’s life, including a finale in Las Vegas.

The show came to Tenby on Saturday, April 20.

Anne Draper remarked: “The audience became part of the show throughout, to great effect, and the level of laughter and interaction grew as the show proceeded. They went out in general agreement that they hadn’t laughed so much in years and were pleased that they had made the effort to attend.

“The support of the Night Out Scheme of the Welsh Arts Council that made it possible to bring this to Tenby is much appreciated,” she added.
