A MILFORD HAVEN woman was ordered to pay the court over £4,800 for playing loud music at her Hakin property in defiance of an abatement notice.

Mrs Melanie Conroy had entered a plea of not guilty on May 4. However, at a hearing on July 17, Magistrates at Haverfordwest found her guilty of contravening the abatement notice issued on January 21, 2020 when on October 13 and 14, 2022, and January 9 and February 9, 2023, there was amplified music playing at an excessive volume at her Picton Road premises.

The court fined Mrs Conroy £220 for each of the four occasions plus compensation £600 relating to an offence taken into consideration, and a victim services surcharge of £352. Costs of £2,988.58 were added to the fine, making the total payable £4,820.58.
